Certifications for Health Education and Public Health Professionals CHES are those who have met the standards of competence established by The National Commission for Health Education Credentialing Inc. (NCHEC) and have successfully passed the CHES exam. The CHES designation is an indication of competency and commitment to the health education, health promotion and public health fields. Certified Health Education Specialists are dedicated to continuous professional development. SOPHE is a NCHEC-designated provider to offer continuing education contact hours (CECH) for continuing education events and activities. COSOPHE provides many opportunities throughout the year for members to receive continuing education contact hours for the CHES and MCHES certifications.
